Sewer spill results in high level of E. coli in river
KINGSTON – The province is investigating a sewer spill that sent human excrement into the Cataraqui River for weeks. The Environment Ministry said it was alerted to the spill on Aug. 29. Lab tests done last week by an environmental group showed water from the river had 1,500 times the E. coli levels allowed at public beaches.
